EDUCATION

Marilyn attended UCLA, spending a year at the University of Bordeaux, where she studied French Literature. After graduating Magna cum Laude with a B.A. in French, and having been elected to Phi Beta Kappa, she attended UCLA Law School and received her J.D. in 1976. While in law school she had a variety of clerking jobs, including her first work on major tort cases.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Upon graduation, Marilyn joined a well known Los Angeles firm as a Business Litigation Associate and was exposed to a variety of litigation matters.

In 1977, she joined Tom Stolpman’s firm, then known as Silver, McWilliams & Booth, where she worked with Tom on major personal injury and wrongful death cases and business torts, including a licensing dispute between a firm client and the Vatican Library.

She also studied art at Harbor College and California State University at Long Beach while continuing her law practice.

Since 1996, Marilyn has pursued further education and completed a certificate in Product Development from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, and was a Pilates Instructor after being certified by a prestigious studio.

In January of 2016, Marilyn decided to re-enter the law practice, resumed her active status with the State Bar of California, and became a partner in the newly formed Stolpman Law Group.
